The legend begins
BIONICLE: Legend Of Mata Nui was a planned PC game that should be released on the 1st September 2001 in America and Canada, on the 1st october 2001 should the game be released in other countries. But the game was sadly canceled due to two main reasons: low budget and a large amount of bugs/glitches.
The player should play as the six toa Mata´s (Tahu, Onua, Pohatu, Gali, Kopaka and Lewa) These Toa´s also came out in 2001.
The assumed levels should be
Level 1: Toa Mata - Onua
Level 2: Toa Mata - Gali
Level 3: Toa Mata - Pohatu
Level 4: Toa Mata - Kopaka
Level 5: Toa Mata - Lewa
Level 6: Toa Mata - Tahu
Level 7: probably a final battle with manas or something like that.
BIONICLE: Legend Of Mata Nui is not avaiable for the public in any way, but ideas of how to get the game came up through the years. One of the ideas is that at least 8 "beta" CDs could be found in few selected Toa Mata canisters in 2001, some people mean these CDs could contain a prototype or beta version of BIONICLE: Legend Of Mata Nui. I searched these CDs up on Google and then i found this:
"The Toa Mata Promo CD was packaged with special releases of the six Toa Mata in summer 2001. It was the first mini promo CD packaged with sets and served to introduce fans to the characters and plot of the 2001 storyline through animated sequences and exploration of the various sections of the CD"

I dont know, the peopels there said all this with the promo CDs could also mean another type of promo CDs. Who knows??
If there was any other type of promo CDs will the LEGO comapny probably own them.

Here is the front cover to BIONICLE: Legend Of Mata Nui. As you can see the six Toa´s stands in a dust storm or something like that. The giant bronze/infected mask in the background is the same as Toa Tahu has.
Ingame Info
The game starts with the six Toa Canisters falling into the ocean and sailing towards the island of Mata Nui. Afterwards, there is a clip of Toa Onua washing up on the shores near the Papa Nihu Reef and reassembling himself. Onua then heads toward Onu-Wahi.
The main menu takes the player to Kini-Nui. The normal look of the mouse point is replaced with one of Onua´s claws (i really love this little claw)
when you choose one of the options you can choose in the start menu the camera flies over to another location near the start point.

Controls
As you can read in the Menu Guide could the player choose between Keyboard + MouseLook or Keyboard + Numpad.
Keyboard + MouseLook = My thoughts about BIONICLE: Legend Of Mata Nui is that yea could stear the Toa around with W,A.S and D or with the arrow keys. The mouse was used as movement for the camera (third person)
Keyboard + Numpad = nearly the same as the first, but the only change could be that the Numpad was used as a movement for the camera, probably key 8 as up, key 4 as left, key 6 as right and key 2 as down. But who knows we really dont get that much info about this wonderfull game.

Hud
In addition to their basic tasks, the player is able to collect small logos in the shape of the Three Virtues. The amount they have collected is displayed on the top right corner of the screen. On the top left corner is the player's health. On the bottom left corner is their current mask, which spins when in use. In the bottom right corner is the amount of a certain berry needed to defeat their opponents.
NO MORE
We actualy dont know ANYTING about the levels in BIONICLE: Legend Of Mata Nui expect for Onua´s since it´s the only level that we have gameplay from. It´s not because the BETA testers havent recorded more, but there was a REALLY bad glitch at the end of Onua´s level that made it impossible to jump from these platforms. Even when it looks like Onua can jump to the second last platform he dies. But there are still screenshots on the internet with some of the other levels. How did they do? My idea is that USA and Canada had diffrent Beta´s of BIONICLE: Legend Of Mata Nui (go under "The testers" to see the beta advisement)
As you can see on these pictures, the BIONICLE´s looks much more like a alpha/Beta of the version we have footage from (Onua´s level) You can also see on the pictures with Kopaka and Onua does the Hud have a diffrent design. My idea is that these screnshots came from a unknown platform forexample PS2, i got this idea since we can see the little cross thing i lower left corner looks like the d-pad on a PS2 controller.

This picture loks pretty diffrent. Its much more shiny and the green shooting balls in the lower right corner is now white. Another wierd thing is that there are no dot as middle of the screen, this could be a diffrent version of the game or it could be BIONICLE: Legend Of Mata Nui to a new console (PS",Xbox or Gamecube)
This picture looks much more cartoon themed than the original Beta we can see on pictures/videos. The graphic is also much more "sharp" than it is on the pictures/videos we have got. Another wierd thing is that it looks like Onua doesnt have a mask on, but as you can see on the mask in the lower left corner does he WIERD! You can also see the dot in the middle of the screen looks like an eye and not like a green circle with a blue dot in it. When the Beta tester of the playthrough was at this point in the game did he have full life (three red balls in the upper left corner) and on this picture does the player only have 1.5 red ball left, it means there are two playthrough´s or maybe two Beta´s!
